CoolSculpting Beverly Hills

The CoolSculpting procedure uses a biological process known as “selective Cryolipolysis,” in which prolonged, controlled cooling of fat tissue leads to the death and subsequent removal of these cells. This procedure is non-surgical and non-invasive, can be completed in approximately one hour per treatment area, and doesn’t damage the surrounding tissue. CoolSculpting utilizes the body’s natural processes to remove stubborn, localized pockets of fat.

CoolSculpting is not a weight loss technique and should not be considered a substitute for a healthy diet and regular exercise. Rather, it is a method for subtle body contouring; unlike other methods such as liposuction, The CoolSculpting procedure is completed externally and requires no incisions.

Procedure Walk-Through

  1. Preparation: There is no specific preparation for patients planning to undergo a CoolSculpting treatment. Dr. Vallecillos may ask that you refrain from taking anti-inflammatory medications and/or medications that contain aspirin to reduce any swelling and/or bruising that may occur.
  2. Anesthesia: No anesthesia is required for patients undergoing a CoolSculpting treatment. The procedure is outpatient, non-surgical, and non-invasive; some patients report feeling initial pressure and discomfort, but this tends to reside as the area naturally numbs from the application of the cooling instrument.
  3. A typical treatment session will last about one hour, but the body will continue to respond afterward, breaking down and expelling the destroyed fat cells for up to four months. This process is similar to the body’s process of breaking down food.

Cool Sculpting FAQs

Who is a candidate for CoolSculpting?

You should consider CoolSculpting if you have small, localized pockets of fat that persist despite a healthy diet and regular exercise. CoolSculpting is a great solution for patients who want to correct these problem areas without undergoing an invasive surgical procedure, such as liposuction. It is not a weight loss solution and will not provide the kinds of dramatic changes in body contour that can be achieved with liposuction or a body lift.

What is the recovery time for CoolSculpting?

Most patients experience no downtime, and are able to resume their normal activities immediately after a CoolSculpting treatment session. Some patients may experience redness, numbness, and sensitivity in the treated areas, but in most cases, it is mild and temporary.

Are there risks or side effects with CoolSculpting?

Since CoolSculpting is a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure, risks and side effects are minimal. Many patients experience temporary redness, tingling, and numbness in the treated area; some may experience bruising. These side effects will resolve on their own.

How long do the results last?

After treatment, the body will continue to metabolize the destroyed fat cells and patients should see optimal results within 2-4 months. Many patients find that one treatment is sufficient to achieve their goals, though additional treatments can augment results. If a healthy lifestyle is maintained after the procedure, results can be long-lasting.
