Vaser Liposuction Los Angeles
A minimally invasive procedure, VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing helps define muscle groups, such as abdominals, pecs, and obliques, by removing unwanted body fat.
Also called VASERlipo, the VASER system uses ultrasound technology to target fat tissues while preserving connective tissues, blood vessels, and nerves. The system breaks up fat to reshape your body while promoting rapid healing.

VASER Liposuction Overview
Dr. Vallecillos begins VASER liposuction by sedating the patient so that he or she feels comfortable and relaxed. He then makes small incisions, approximately one-half centimeter in width, in spots where the body’s natural contours hide the incision.
A cannula (long, narrow tube) is inserted into the treatment area, which is then filled with a numbing solution that also shrinks blood vessels. This minimizes both bleeding and bruising. Next, the doctor inserts a small probe, the VASER device, which transmits sound waves that break up and melt fat cells without harming surrounding tissues.
Finally, Dr. Vallecillos suctions away the fat layer lying just under the skin using a specially designed cannula. It is the removal of this surface layer of fat that helps improve muscle definition.
Procedure Walk-Through
- Preparation: Begin preparing for your procedure at least two weeks ahead of time, especially if you take blood thinning medications or smoke. Blood thinning medications include NSAIDs like aspirin and Ibuprofen as well as certain vitamins and supplements like Gingko biloba. Stop smoking and increase hydration both before and after your procedure to aid in healing.
- Anesthesia: This treatment requires local anesthesia, as well as sedation. The anesthetic is an injectable that both numbs the area and shrinks blood vessels to reduce bruising.
- Preoperative Consult: During your consultation, Dr. Vallecillos discusses your goals with treatment and helps you set reasonable expectations. He also looks at your full medical history, including any medications you take and previous procedures. This is also the time to ask any procedural questions you have. Finally, the doctor provides both pre-and postoperative instructions.
