Before & Preparation
You will consult with Dr. Vallecillos or one of his experienced practitioners for a complete evaluation of the treatment area. During this preliminary consultation, you will discuss your goals, expectations, and candidacy for treatment.
Ellacor does not require significant preparation. However, there are actions you can take to decrease the risk of bleeding and bruising, such as:
- Avoid anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin and ibuprofen at least one week before the procedure.
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and cigarettes 24 hours before the procedure.
During the Procedure
- Duration: 20-45 minutes
- Target Area: Mid and Lower Face ( on label ) and several off-label areas ( see below)
- Device: Handheld Ellacor applicator with hollow stainless steel microneedles
- Pain: With local anesthetic, pain is usually between 1-2 on a scale of 10.
Step-by-step guide:
- Our clinical expert will cleanse the treatment area.
- Next, local anesthesia is applied and allowed time for the numbing agent to take effect – typically about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Next, the clinical expert will move the mechanical handpiece systematically across the treatment area, creating a grid-like pattern of the microcores.
- The cores begin closing immediately after tissue removal.
- Pressure is applied to stop pinpoint bleeding after the procedure.
- Results include improved skin architecture and the reduction of wrinkles and sagging skin.

Ellacor may not be ideal for patients who have one or more of the following contraindications:
- Dermatosis (skin tumors, keloids, warts, birthmarks, solar keratosis) or synthetic implants in the treatment area
- Pregnant or nursing mothers
- Open wounds, sores, or irritation in the treatment area
- Allergies to stainless steel or topical, injected, or oral medications that are necessary for treatment.
- History of bleeding, dermatological, or autoimmune disorders (rosacea, melasma, active acne, keratosis, collagen disorders, lupus, etc.)
- Systemic or acute local skin infections (Hepatitis disorders, high doses of anticoagulants or blood thinners, HIV, etc.)
- Chemotherapy or radiation in the treatment area
- Use of high-dose corticosteroids
- Facial plastic surgery within the past 12 months
