BBL (Brazillian Butt Lift) Beverly Hills

Gluteoplasty, commonly called a butt lift, is a surgical technique that alters the buttocks. Where a traditional butt lift seeks to both lift and minimize the buttocks, a Brazilian butt lift enhances them. Sometimes called Brazilian butt augmentation, this procedure gives the patient a rounder, perkier backside that looks natural, thanks to injections of the patient’s own body fat.
This procedure is less invasive than both a traditional butt lift and butt implant surgery. During your consultation, Dr. Vallecillos will advise you whether this procedure will give you the shape you desire, or if a traditional butt lift would better suit your needs.

Procedure Walk-Through

  1. Preparation: You should begin preparing for your procedure at least two weeks ahead of time by cutting blood-thinning medications, such as NSAIDs, aspirin, and any vitamins or supplements you take regularly that thin the blood. Additionally, smokers should avoid smoking from at least two weeks before to at least two weeks after their procedure. This is also a good time to make arrangements for transport to and from the facility on the day of your procedure, as well as arrange time off work during your recovery. Patients over 45 need to consult their primary physician to receive medical clearance before undergoing a Brazilian butt lift procedure.
  2. Anesthesia: Typically, general anesthesia is in use for a Brazilian butt lift. Other options include sedation or an epidural anesthetic, which numbs your body’s lower half. Dr. Vallecillos will discuss these options with you during your consultation.
  3. Preoperative Consult: During your consultation with Dr. Vallecillos, discuss your expectations and goals for this procedure. Additionally, ask any questions you have about the surgery and its associated post-operative care.

    Brazilian Butt Lift Benefits

During the BBL procedure, the doctor removes body fat from donor sites via liposuction, typically from the abdomen and thighs, to enhance the butt’s new shape. Next, the fat undergoes purification via a centrifuge before injection into the buttocks. Due to the purification process, less than a third of the fat liposuctioned from the donor sites goes into the buttocks. Typically, the procedure includes many small injections focused on the upper part of the buttocks.

The resulting look is more realistic, enhancing the lifted, perky shape that patients seek. Compared to a traditional butt lift or butt implant procedure, a Brazilian butt lift is far less invasive, as it requires smaller, fewer incisions than its gluteoplasty counterparts do.

      • 2021-2022 Average Cost: $7,000
      • Cost Range: $2,500 – $12,000
      • Additional Costs: Does not include anesthesia, aftercare and any hospital stays
      • Insurance Coverage: Not covered by insurance

      BBL Side Effects & Risks

As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks involved with BBL surgery. However, a BBL may carry fewer risks compared to alternative techniques for buttock enhancement, such as implants.

      Some potential side effects include:

      • pain
      • Infection
      • Scarring
      • Lumps under the skin
      • Fat Embolism

Another known side effect is that some of the grafter fat is not taken up by the body. Some of the injected fat is broken down and absorbed naturally by the body. The amount of absorbed fat differs for each patient.

      Brazilian Butt Lift FAQs

How long do Brazilian bum lifts last?

After three to six months, your BBL will stabilize and reveal your final results. On average, you expect the results to last at least five years. There have even been cases where a patient’s results last at least ten years or more. The time frame depends on the effort put in to maintain the results.

      Is a Brazilian Butlift permanent?

A Brazilian bum lift is a semi-permanent procedure because several factors can change the outcome of your treatment. The natural aging process, your overall diet, lifestyle, and whether or not you gain or lose a significant amount of weight can all affect your results. However, to prolong the best BBL results, it is imperative to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle without substantial changes in your weight.

What does a BBL consist of?

A Brazilian bum lift is a cosmetic procedure that utilizes liposuction to transfer fat from the mid-section of the body and inject it into the buttocks to alter its shape and size. This industry-leading method is widely popular since it does not require implants.

      Is BBL painful?

It is common to experience pain after receiving a BBL. However, many patients describe the feeling more as soreness. Many patients experience muscular soreness in the buttocks region, which should subside as the healing process continues.

What are the risks of getting a BBL?

Some potential risks of getting a BBL include bruising, infection, skin discoloration, changes in skin sensation, swelling, lumps under the skin, and poor wound healing.

Does a BBL change your body shape?

A BBL can alter the entire shape of your body. This procedure not only modifies the shape and size of the buttocks but also can change the shape of the hips, thighs, waist, and abdomen.

How much do you have to weigh for a BBL?

It is preferable to weigh between twenty and thirty pounds above your ideal weight to receive the best results possible from a BBL.

How do you sleep after BBL?

After your BBL, avoid sleeping on your back for the first few weeks post-procedure. The most comfortable position depends on where the fat was removed and injected. For example, if you had fat transferred from your abdomen, you should sleep on your side while healing. If you had fat transferred from your sides, choose to sleep on your stomach. Additionally, use multiple pillows to ensure you are comfortable. Pregnancy pillows are popular since they support the hips and the back while sleeping.

      Do BBLs get saggy?

Body contouring does not stop the natural aging process, so your buttocks can flatten or change as time goes on, which is also commonly a result of weight loss, diet, and exercise

Why do BBLs have a high mortality rate?

A BBL can be high risk due to the multitude of blood vessels in the buttocks. There is a vital heart artery in the buttocks, which has a possibility of being blocked when the surgeon injects the fat into the desired location.
