The Rise in Popularity of BBLs
We like big butts, and we cannot lie. The numbers would agree. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), BBLs or Brazilian butt lift surgery is up 36% from the year 2014-2015 alone. And a whole 252% from 2000-2015.
Celebrities are Dictating Growing Popularity of BBLs
Accordingly, we have seen a shift away from patients seeking large breasts via breast augmentation surgery. Alternatively, there has been a noticeable increase in patients inquiring about Brazilian butt lift surgery or BBLs. It is thought that this recent shift can be traced back to curvaceous celebrity beauties including Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, and Instagram phenomenon and fitness model Jen Selter.
New Advancements in Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery
In recent years, there have been several notable advancements in how we harvest fat from the body and then transfer it to areas such as the butt, breasts, and face. These new advancements come in the way of how the fat is processed once we get it out of the body. These techniques allow for greater fat survival – a problem with fat transfer surgeries that historically, has limited the amount of transferred fat that survives. These refined surgical techniques now enable surgeons to use the patient’s own fat to plump the butt more efficiently, creating better outcomes. The result is a booty that is both natural looking and feeling.
What if I don’t have enough fat for a BBL?
Buttock implant surgery also known as gluteoplasty may be the only option for certain patients, like those that lack enough fat necessary to perform a BBL. Squats and deadlifts are and always will be your backside’s bff and key ingredient for building a bigger booty the natural way. Sometimes genetic blessings are lacking in that department. When this is your reality, a gluteoplasty or a butt implant be necessary to achieve the full potential of your desired look. All in all, it is a #bootyfull thing women are embracing curvy behinds.
